Law360, New York (May 19, 2006, 12:00 AM ET) -- An inventor-congressman has introduced a bill in the U.S. House of Representatives that would speed up litigation and reduce costs by sending the lion’s share of patent cases to government-sanctioned “rocket docket” judges.
The bill seeks to address the fact that roughly 40% of all patent case appeals of federal district court decisions are reversed and ultimately decided by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, leading to more expensive and time-consuming litigation.
