Nintendo Hit With New Patent Suits Over Wii

Law360, New York (August 20, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Hillcrest Laboratories Inc. has lodged complaints against Nintendo Co. Ltd. in U.S. federal court and with the U.S. International Trade Commission, claiming that its popular Wii video game system trampled four of its patents.

Three of Hillcrest's patents protect the technology used for a hand-held, three-dimensional pointing device, while the fourth covers a navigation interface display system that graphically organizes the content so it can be displayed on a television.
