Judge Unseals Docs In Ark. Rice Farmers Suit

Law360, New York (August 21, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- An Arkansas state judge has reportedly unsealed several documents from a collection of over 1 million in a lawsuit alleging that Riceland Foods Inc. failed to inform the state's farmers that a genetically modified strain of rice had contaminated the food supply.

The nine documents, released Wednesday following a verbal order by Judge Phillip Whiteacre of the Lonoke County Circuit Court in Arkansas, were unsealed after the plaintiffs argued that they did not reveal any trade secrets, the Associated Press said Thursday.
