Lawmakers Ask For 10 Years Of Vytorin Records

Law360, New York (August 21, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Two U.S. lawmakers have asked Merck & Co. and Schering-Plough Corp. to turn over 10 years of financial and communications records relating to a recent clinical trial for the cholesterol drug Vytorin and have questioned the ethics of that trial.

The letter is the latest step in the U.S. House Committee on Energy and Commerce's investigation of Vytorin's safety. That investigation has been heightened since Merck and Schering-Plough released the results of the clinical trial on July 21.
