Canadian Watchdog Has Eye On Google-Yahoo Deal

Law360, New York (August 26, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Add the Canadian Competition Bureau to the list of regulators probing Google Inc. and Yahoo Inc.'s online-search advertising pact for possible antitrust violations.

Pamela Wong, a representative for the bureau, said Tuesday that the agency is reviewing the deal. She declined to say when the inquiry began.

“We can't really estimate how long it will take, but we do try to work as expeditiously as we can,” Wong said.
