DOJ Slams Raycom Over Alleged Station Hoarding

Law360, New York (September 2, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Justice has filed suit against Raycom Media Inc., hoping to boost competition in the Virginia broadcasting arena by compelling the media giant to release one of two television stations it owns in Richmond.

The DOJ officially slammed Raycom in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia over its current holdings, arguing that the company's acquisition of two local stations had significantly curtailed competition.
