Pa. Funeral Directors Admit Body Part Theft

Law360, New York (September 2, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Two Philadelphia brothers who operated a funeral home pled guilty Tuesday to several charges in connection with a multimillion-dollar human tissue harvesting ring, their lawyers have confirmed.

The brothers, Louis and Gerald Garzone, admitted to charges of conspiracy, theft, abuse of corpse and welfare fraud, according to their lawyers. The former also pleaded guilty to insurance fraud, his lawyer said.
