Teva Sues Glenmark In Latest Suit Over Generic Coreg

Law360, New York (September 3, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Teva Pharmaceuticals Industries Ltd. has filed a lawsuit accusing rival generic-drug maker Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd. of infringing patents for the preparation of a generic version of Coreg, GlaxoSmithKline PLC's congestive heart failure treatment.

In a complaint filed Friday in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, the Israel-based generics maker claims Glenmark is infringing two patents covering the process for preparing carvedilol, the active ingredient in Coreg.
