Milberg Weiss Feels Repurcussions From Indictment

Law360, New York (June 1, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Embattled law firm Milberg Weiss Bershad & Schulman should be removed as counsel for the lead plaintiff in a class action suit securities suit against Bayer AG, according to New York State Comptroller Alan G. Hevesi.

Hevesi announced Thursday that he would petition a federal judge to let him replace the firm as counsel for the New York State Common Retirement Fund, on the heels of federal indictments handed down against Milberg Weiss and two of the firm’s partners.
