Complying With ACA's 90-Day Waiting Period Limit

Law360, New York (August 3, 2015, 11:58 AM EDT) -- Effective with plan years beginning on or after Jan. 1, 2014, the Affordable Care Act prohibits group health plans from including a waiting period to receive health coverage that exceeds 90 calendar days. See Public Health Service Act Section 2708, as added by ACA Section 1201 (42 USCS § 300gg-7). The U.S. Department of Labor published final regulations addressing the waiting period limit in February 2014, which are available here....
