Retractable Sues To Protect Syringe Patents

Law360, New York (September 9, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Medical device maker Retractable Technologies Inc. has sued rival Safety Medical International Inc. over patents related to safety syringes.

In a complaint filed Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, Retractable Technologies alleges that Safety Medical's Saf-T-Syringe product, made in China and imported into the U.S., infringes five patents that belong to Retractable Technologies.
