Finisar, Comcast Go To Bat Over Fees

Law360, New York (September 9, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Counsel for Comcast Cable Communications Corp. told a California judge Wednesday that Finisar Corp. should be made to hand over costs and attorneys' fees because the fiber-optics systems maker had acted in bad faith by pursuing its patent infringement claims against Comcast – a contention that Finisar attorneys vigorously contested.

Arguing before Judge William H. Alsup at a hearing in San Francisco, John Trinidad of Keker & Van Nest LLP said Comcast was entitled to costs and “modest” attorneys' fees.
