Microsoft, Ford Sued Over Voice-Activation Patent

Law360, New York (September 10, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Microsoft Corp. and Ford Motor Co. are facing an infringement suit over the in-car communication and entertainment system Sync, which allows drivers to use voice commands to operate iPods and mobile phones in their cars.

In a complaint filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, Stragent LLC accuses the companies of infringing a patent for a computer program designed to add voice activation and voice control to a media player.
