Judge Slashes Attorneys' Fees In Biosolids Lawsuit

Law360, New York (September 10, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge has slashed a fee award for attorneys who successfully represented a group of businesses in a lawsuit challenging a Kern County, Calif., law banning the use of biosolids as fertilizer.

On Sept. 3, U.S. District Judge Gary Feess of the Central District of California said that Bingham McCutchen LLP is entitled to $455,276.32, and that Beveridge & Diamond PC is entitled $627,211.95 — a total of about $900,000 less than the firms originally requested.
