Cintas To Shell Out $1.65M Over Living Wage Spat

Law360, New York (September 11, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- After an epic struggle, Cintas Corp. has been forced to hand over more than $1.65 million in back wages, interest and penalties in the wake of the California Supreme Court rejecting the uniform maker's attempt to overturn a ruling that it violated the city of Hayward's Living Wage Ordinance.

On Thursday, the state's high court upheld the decision first delivered by the Alameda County Superior Court, handing more than 200 Northern California laundry workers a win in the longstanding dispute.
