Roche, Cobalt Drop Claims Over One Boniva Patent

Law360, New York (September 15, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Hoffmann-La Roche Inc. and Canadian generic-drug maker Cobalt Pharmaceuticals Inc. have agreed to dismiss claims against one another regarding one patent for the osteoporosis drug Boniva. But Friday's dismissal made no mention of two other patents-in-suit.

U.S. District Judge Stanley R. Chesler signed an order Friday in the District of New Jersey dismissing with prejudice Roche's claims against Ontario-based Cobalt — and dismissing without prejudice Cobalt's counterclaims — with respect to U.S. Patent Number 6,294,196.
