ITC Wades Into Wii Debate

Law360, New York (September 18, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission has decided to look into allegations that Nintendo Co. has violated the patents owned by a Maryland company with its hugely popular Wii videogame system.

On Wednesday, the ITC voted to investigate the charges brought by Hillcrest Laboratories, which filed patent infringement claims last month, saying Wii's remote controllers lifted the technology that enables players' to interact with digital media on television.
