Railroad Cos. Sue Calif. Over Contaminated Site

Law360, New York (September 19, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Two railroad companies have sued the state of California over the cost of cleaning up a stretch of railway they say they built with the state's help to make room for a state highway project.

BNSF Railway Co. and Union Pacific Railway Co. filed their complaint Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California against the state of California and the California Department of Transportation.
