Deals Rumor Mill: Hewlett-Packard, Petco, Charterhouse

By Linda Chiem (September 3, 2015, 7:22 PM EDT) -- Hewlett-Packard Co. is mulling a potential sale for TippingPoint, its computer network security solutions unit, ahead of its planned corporate split later this year, Reuters reported on Wednesday. A possible sale of the unit, which has already attracted interest from private equity firms, could be valued at between $200 million and $300 million, the report said. HP snatched up TippingPoint in 2010 as part of its $2.7 billion acquisition of 3Com Corp. HP announced in October 2014 that it would split into two companies, with its technology infrastructure, software and services units forming Hewlett-Packard Enterprise and its personal systems and printing company to be called HP Inc....
