ADC Hits Tyco With Patent Suit Over Fiber Optics

Law360, New York (September 22, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Broadband communications company ADC Telecommunications Inc. has accused Tyco Electronics Corp. of infringing five ADC patents for fiber-optic products.

The lawsuit, filed Friday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota, alleges that Tyco's “FTerm UMT fiber distribution terminals” and “CSX-3 cabinets” infringe on five patents issued between April 2007 and August 2008 that are currently owned by ADC.

The five patents at issue are U.S. Patent Numbers 7,400,815; 7,397,997; 7,407,330; 7,200,317; and 7,233,731.
