ITC Rules Against Tate & Lyle In Sucralose Probe

Law360, New York (September 23, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission has initially cleared most of the companies British sugar producer Tate & Lyle PLC accused of infringing patents for technology used to make sucralose, a leading sweetener in the U.S.

In a preliminary ruling Monday, the ITC said a majority of the companies accused in the complaint did not infringe Tate & Lyle's patents, except for those companies that had failed to participate in the commission's investigation.
