Western States Unveil Cap-And-Trade Plan

Law360, New York (September 25, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The Western Climate Initiative, a joint effort by a group of American states and Canadian provinces, has announced a new cap-and-trade program designed to cut greenhouse gas emissions.

The WCI released recommendations for the cap-and-trade program on Tuesday. The initiative includes the states of Arizona, California, New Mexico, Oregon, Washington, Montana and Utah, and the Canadian provinces of British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec.
