Sprint, DirecTV Sued Over Wireless Sports Broadcasts

Law360, New York (September 30, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A patent-holding company has sued several media and entertainment companies, including the National Football League, Sprint Nextel Corp. and DirecTV Group Inc., over two patents for broadcasting events to hand-held devices within a venue.

Marshall, Texas-based Front Row Technologies LLC filed its complaint Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, accusing Sprint, DirecTV, the NFL and affiliated companies, the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing Inc., Kangaroo Media Inc. and Kangaroo TV Inc. of willfully infringing and inducing the infringement...
