Wind Farms Do Not Pose Risks To Birds: Study

Law360, New York (October 1, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Wind turbines on farmlands do not have an adverse effect on birds, according to a study by British researchers that could prompt energy companies to start developing more wind structures.

The study, published in the British Ecological Society's Journal of Applied Ecology on Wednesday, reviewed whether 23 species would be driven away from their habitat because of two wind farms in eastern England, and found that only one species, the pheasant, was affected.
