Judge To Permanently Enjoin Roche's Mircera

Law360, New York (October 3, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- After a protracted battle, a district judge has ruled that drugmaker Amgen Inc. is entitled to a permanent injunction barring Swiss company Roche Holding AG from selling the anemia drug Mircera in the United States.

U.S. District Judge William G. Young of the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts lodged a 150-page opinion on Thursday affirming an earlier jury verdict finding that four of Amgen's patents were valid, enforceable and infringed by Roche.
