Blue Cat Flavor Drink Tainted With Melamine: FDA

Law360, New York (October 6, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has detected in Tristar Food's recalled Blue Cat Flavor Drink the chemical additive melamine, the same ingredient that tainted baby formula and reportedly caused more than 1,000 Chinese children to fall sick.

On Monday, the FDA reported that its “on-going testing program” revealed the melamine contamination, and advised the public not to consume the product.

FDA also recommended that retailers pull the product from their shelves.
