Court Pinches Claims In Amaranth Futures Suit

Law360, New York (October 7, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge on Saturday dismissed many of the claims against the Amaranth defendants in a putative class action over the failed hedge fund’s manipulation of natural gas futures, but let stand accusations that hedge fund advisers Amaranth Advisors LLC and its two chief traders violated the Commodity Exchange Act.
