Music Choice Attacks Viacom Digital Music Patent

Law360, New York (October 13, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Music Choice, a company that broadcasts digital music via cable TV, has escalated its patent battle with Viacom International Inc. by suing for a declaratory judgment that a Viacom patent is invalid.

In a lawsuit filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, Music Choice asks for a judgment that it does not infringe U.S. Patent Number 7,363,372 and that the patent is invalid.

A representative of Viacom could not immediately be reached for comment.
