Court Vacates Ban On Importing Qualcomm Chips

Law360, New York (October 14, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal appeals court has vacated an order by the International Trade Commission barring imports of electronic devices containing a chip made by Qualcomm Inc., which the ITC found to induce infringement of a Broadcom Corp. patent.

However, in an order issued Tuesday the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit upheld the ITC's finding that the patent, U.S. Patent Number 6,714,983, is valid.
