Law360, New York (October 14, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- Seyfarth Shaw LLP has won the reversal of a discovery order concerning fee-payment arrangements in a case brought against the firm by two inventors who have alleged malpractice in the prosecution of a patent infringement action over snowboard bindings.
Judge Jeffrey S. White of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California on Tuesday reversed Magistrate Judge Maria-Elena James’ Sept. 3 discovery order after concluding that the documents sought “may contain information reasonably calculated to lead to the discovery of admissible evidence.”
