Calif. Groups Fight District's Dairy Farm Approval

Law360, New York (October 16, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A green group and an advocate for low-income residents are challenging the approval of a "mega-dairy" with more than 6,000 cows that they claim will emit potent greenhouse gases in violation of the California Environmental Quality Act.

On Thursday, in the Superior Court of California in Fresno County, California Rural Legal Assistance and The Center for Biological Diversity sued the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District, which certified the environmental impact report on the proposed project.
