Simpson Thatcher Payday For Bailout Work: $300K

Law360, New York (October 16, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP will receive $300,000 for six months of work advising the federal government on the structuring of the $700 billion bailout plan, the U.S. Treasury Department said on Thursday.

The Treasury announced Monday that Simpson Thatcher had been selected as the legal adviser for the bailout, known as the Troubled Asset Relief Program. The firm began work immediately on equity program structuring.
