Vesuvius USA To Spend $240K In EPA Settlement

Law360, New York (October 20, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Refractory device maker Vesuvius USA Corp. has agreed to pay a $25,000 fine and perform a $215,000 plant upgrade to settle alleged violations of the Clean Air Act and other regulations with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

The agency announced the settlement on Friday. The parties reached an agreement before the EPA could file a complaint against the manufacturer, according to the consent agreement and final order lodged Sept. 25 with a regional hearing clerk.

Vesuvius neither admitted nor denied the allegations made in the consent...
