$13M Settlement In BAR/BRI Class Action Approved

Law360, New York (October 23, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A district judge has granted final approval to a $13 million settlement in an antitrust class action against the Thomson Corp. and Thomson Legal & Regulatory Inc. that accused the Westlaw legal research publisher of bundling materials in its so-called BAR/BRI courses.

U.S. District Judge William H. Pauley III of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York signed off on the final order on Wednesday, approving an amended settlement distribution plan and slashing attorneys' fees by about a third, to $2 million....
