Investors Press SEC For Global Warming Disclosure

Law360, New York (October 24, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A coalition of institutional investors is pressing the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to mandate disclosures on climate risks, in a “carbon-constrained environment” with new regulations on the horizon.

The Investor Network on Climate Risk, a project of the investor and environmentalist network Ceres, wrote the SEC Wednesday in response to the commission's request for public feedback on its "21st Century Disclosure Initiative," which is modernizing the SEC disclosure system.
