Acacia Unit Settles Hyperlink Patent Suit

Law360, New York (October 24, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- A subsidiary of Acacia Research Corp. has entered into a licensing deal with Environmental Systems Research Institute Inc. that resolves a patent infringement suit the Acacia unit filed over CDs and DVDs with Internet hyperlinks.

Acacia said Friday the agreement wraps up the lawsuit Disc Link Corp. filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas against a handful of defendants. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The managing attorney representing Environmental Systems did not return a call seeking comment.
