UK Law Firms Foresee Surge In Tie-Ups: Survey

Law360, New York (October 27, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- More mergers in the legal industry are likely to take place as law firms try to hold onto profits that may be put at risk by the financial crisis, according to a survey of U.K. law firms.

Financial services firm Smith & Williamson released a survey on Monday that found three-quarters of firm respondents with more than 100 partners expected merger activity to continue to rise in the year ahead as business confidence in the legal sector grew bleak.
