By Benjamin Horney (January 7, 2016, 6:32 PM EST) -- Irish drugmaker Shire PLC has reached an agreement to buy U.S biotech Baxalta Inc. for $32.5 billion, Reuters reported on Thursday, and an official announcement could be made as soon as early next week. According to the report, the cash-and-stock deal will value Baxalta at around $48 per share, with the cash component being just short of $20 per share. Shire has been vying to acquire Baxalta since July, although its initial offer was rejected. Reports earlier this week said that the two sides were in advanced talks....
