Boeing Reaches Deal With IAM To End 53-Day Strike

Law360, New York (October 28, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Boeing Co. and the union representing 27,000 of its employees have reached a tentative deal to end a long-running strike that halted new plane production and cost the aircraft manufacturer an estimated $100 million a day.

Seattle-based Boeing and the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers announced Tuesday they had proposed a new four-year contract that, if approved, would end a 53-day strike at plants in Washington, Oregon and Kansas that began when talks broke down early last month.
