EU Conducting Antitrust Probe Of Polish Telecom Co.

Law360, New York (October 30, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The European Commission has announced that it is investigating Telekomunikacja Polska SA, Poland's incumbent telecommunications company, for possible abuse of its dominant market position.

The commission confirmed Thursday that it conducted an unannounced raid on the company's offices on Sept. 23, in cooperation with Poland's national competition authority. It did not disclose any details about what it is investigating.

As usual with such investigations, the commission stressed that the raid was a preliminary measure.
