U.S. Attorney Creates Backdating Taskforce

Law360, New York (July 13, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- In response to the stock options scandals that have swept through many of the country’s top companies, the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of California has created a special taskforce to investigate backdating allegations.

The taskforce, which will include members of the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, will be charged with looking into claims made by companies and individuals that executives improperly changed the grant dates of their stock options.
