Arthur Chong Is Broadcom's New General Counsel

Law360, New York (October 31, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Arthur Chong has been chosen as the new general counsel of California-based semiconductor giant Broadcom Corp., which reported 2007 revenue of $3.78 billion.

Chong, who is replacing Alvin G. Segel, will oversee Broadcom's legal, corporate secretary and governance and litigation activities, the company said in a statement Friday. Chong's appointment is effective immediately.

Chong, who was not available for comment on Friday, is leaving his position as executive vice president and chief legal officer at Seattle-based Safeco Corp., a property and casualty insurance company, Broadcom said....
