Deals Rumor Mill: Sharp, Lavazza, Blackstone Group

By Benjamin Horney (February 1, 2016, 5:11 PM EST) -- Struggling tech company Sharp Corp., which has been a staple of the rumor mill for weeks now, will decide which suitor to select this week, Bloomberg reported on Monday. The company plans to mull bids from both Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. Ltd., also known as Foxconn Technology Group, and state-owned Innovation Network Corp. of Japan during a board meeting scheduled for this week, at which a preferred bidder will be chosen, the report said. A Hon Hai executive met Sharp's board in Japan over the weekend to try and sell the Taiwan-based company's offer, which is rumored to be around 659 billion yen ($5.44 billion), the report noted....
