General Re Execs Face Life Behind Bars

Law360, New York (November 3, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The fallen executives of General Reinsurance Corp. and a former officer of American International Group Inc. face lifetime prison sentences as a federal judge Friday determined their fraud scheme cost AIG shareholders roughly $600 million.

Judge Christopher F. Droney of the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut upped the sentencing guidelines by 36 levels for the hundreds of millions of dollars investors lost upon disclosure of the defendants' scheme to boost AIG's financials.
