Judge Speeds Injunction Hearing On Wachovia Deal

Law360, New York (November 5, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A North Carolina judge has agreed to speed up a preliminary injunction hearing in a proposed class action from a shareholder looking to block Wells Fargo & Co.'s $11.7 billion deal to purchase ailing bank Wachovia Corp.

Judge Albert Diaz of the North Carolina Superior Court granted plaintiff Irving Ehrenhaus expedited consideration of his motion for a preliminary injunction to prevent a shareholder vote approving the deal Monday, but he refused to order expedited discovery in the suit.
