High Court To Hear Andersen Arbitration Case

Law360, New York (November 07, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- The U.S. Supreme Court will hear an appeal from defunct accounting firm Arthur Andersen to decide whether a litigant that hasn't signed onto an arbitration agreement can appeal a federal court order refusing to stay the litigation pending arbitration.

Arthur Andersen is among several defendants that petitioned the high court after the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit found it did not have jurisdiction to consider an appeal of the trial court's refusal to stay.
