Judge Rules No Punishment For SEC Official

Law360, New York (November 10, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's chief administrative law judge has decided the commission's enforcement chief should not be disciplined for her behavior during the insider trading investigation of hedge fund Pequot Capital Management.

Judge Brenda Murray found Friday that Linda Chatman Thomsen did disclose some information to a lawyer advising Morgan Stanley about the status of the SEC investigation and its possible impact on current CEO John Mack.
