Discussions On Tax Patents Have Lost Focus

Law360, New York (July 21, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- On July 13, 2006, the House Committee on Ways and Means held its “Hearing on Issues Relating to the Patenting of Tax Advice” to address the issue of whether tax strategies should be eligible for patent protection.

It seems a bit unusual for Ways and Means to be addressing patent issues. Other than that, it is nothing new for Congress and the interested public to be wrestling with a question of what can be patented.
