Plavix Ruling From Attorneys General Imminent

Law360, New York (July 24, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- U.S. state attorneys general will rule on the second update of Bristol-Myers Squibb, Sanofi-Aventis and Apotex’s settlement agreement over the patent for generic Plavix within the next week.

The attorneys general have until the end of July to notify the companies of their decision, said Meredyth Andrus, the assistant attorney general of the antitrust division in Maryland.

Apotex had originally agreed to the settlement agreement offered by Sanofi-Aventis and Bristol-Myers in March to end their ongoing litigation.
