EU, China Sign Deal To Boost Product Safety Efforts

Law360, New York (November 17, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Signaling China’s desire to further alleviate concerns about its exports, the country has signed an agreement with the European Union, vowing to increase consumer safety protections for products shipped to Europe.

Under Monday's agreement, China will make quarterly reports to the EU regarding enforcement actions and other efforts to track down unsafe food and consumer goods, according to the European Commission.
